Sarah Standard is a 1988 US Naval Academy graduate and a retired Navy Captain, retiring in 2013. Commissioned as a Supply Officer, she served 5 years of active duty before transitioning to the reserves and after earning her MA in Applied Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park, with applications in Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, and Databases, she transitioned to the Information Professional community in 2004. She also has certificates in Enterprise Architecture and Chief Information Officer from the National Defense University. Previous assignments in the reserves include serving as the Reserve N6 with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, as Information Management Cell Lead and then as Knowledge Management Officer with the Commander, Second Fleet (C2F), as Commanding Officer for Communication and Information Systems (CIS) C2F, and as CIS Director for Commander, Third Fleet. In 2010, Sarah returned to active duty and instructed calculus and cybersecurity courses at the US Naval Academy until 2013 and returned as a civilian adjunct through 2014. In 2014 she began working for AVIAN, LLC where she developed and instructed a NAVAIR-specific cyber warfare course for the NAVAIR acquisition workforce, teaching over 3000 in the first year offering the course. In 2016, she transitioned to serve as the Cybersecurity/Interoperability Technical Director to now the Executive Director, for Developmental Test, Evaluation
