Students from UCSD visit March ARB to help incorporate Artificial Intelligence into MQ-9 Platform
A pilot assigned to the 492nd Attack Squadron instructs students from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in an MQ-9 simulator on March Air Reserve Base in California on Feb 17, 2023. The National Guard Bureau facilitated a collaboration between UCSD and members of the 163d Attack Wing in an effort to incorporate artificial intelligence to improve MQ-9 technology and provide a centralized location where real-time video and data can be shared instantaneously across organizations. Named Project Theia, the aim of the program is to save lives by reducing response times for first responders during wildfires and other natural disasters (U.S. Air National Guard photograph by Staff Sgt. The DoD CIO will host the Inaugural Cyber Workforce Summit with support from AFCEA International and the National Defense University. In order to succeed in today’s environment, the Department of Defense must remain aggressive in its innovation and development of the Digital Workforce. This two-day conference will provide a forum where DoD CIO representatives will share the latest information about supporting the Department’s cyber mission with the most capable and dominant workforce.

The conference will also provide the opportunity for the Cyber community to hear directly from DoD and Service leadership and subject matter experts. Finally, participants can expect to learn about the path forward toward Cyber workforce readiness in support of operations in the information environment.
