Michael Moss is a simulation software engineer, software architect, and developer of the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM), with 19 years of experience specializing in developing space, directed energy, and tracking capabilities. He developed the initial AFSIM space capabilities and led the development efforts that greatly expanded them for suitability in operations analysis studies and experimentation in the U.S. Department of Defense and industry. He managed the development of distributed simulation interfaces for use with AFSIM in experimentation and wargaming exercises and participated in exercises and campaigns utilizing those interfaces. He has also taught formal courses in AFSIM use and software development to hundreds of engineers and analysts. Dr. Moss is currently working to create and deliver AFSIM models and capabilities for the U.S. Space Force.
